First night in New York

We made it into New York nearly two hours later than scheduled. Caught the Air Train to Howard Beach station and then from there we took the A train for just over an hour to 125th St station and were met by beautiful friends Ange and Andrea. Walked up to Ange and Matt's place had a quick shower and drink and then went mid town to a nice italian restaurant for dinner. We then walked a few blocks and caught the 11.30 set of the Joe Lovano nonet at Dizzy's Jazz Club. A great band featuring Lewis Nash, Ralph Lalama, Steve Slagle, Gary Smulyan, Barry Ries, Larry Farrell, James Weidman & Cameron Brown and of course Joe Lovano.

Got home about 2am very tired and crashed out. It's now just after 10am...not to sure what we're going to do today yet but we'll probably go exploring a little and then head out to the Undead Jazz Fest tonight - http://www.undeadjazzfest.com/

I'll write more about this amazing city soon.

Take it easy,

shane.
